Collaborative Overview

With the constant pressure upon retailers to reduce food miles and with the introduction of government legislation to reduce the ‘carbon foot print’ by 20% (against 1990 baseline) by 2010, then a move to collaborative working is becoming a must.

To establish and secure these important changes retailers must seek an economic and robust solution, Concept BSP believe that a collaborative consolidation program will be that solution.

The challenge will be to bring together key retailers stock into strategically located sites across the UK. For the first time this will mean UK retailers working in ‘partnership’ to achieve the common goals of driving down stockholding, improving lead times, improving availability and by collectively achieving the new government targets.

Historically it has been a difficult task to get retailers to agree the use of dedicated consolidation facilities, but retailers are now realising that there is a need to change views to meet these future challenges.

This site is designed to show a summary of the potential benefits in-line with some of the constraints and issues that Concept BSP have explored.

Although many retailers may see this as a insurmountable task, Concept BSP see this as a deliverable challenge.
